Vettaiyan: The Hunter starts off as an engaging drama, with a strong first half that holds your attention. However, the second half feels drawn out and predictable, dragging the momentum down, ultimately making it an average film best suited for a one-time watch. The film has several loopholes and illogical sequences, but they work within the realm of commercial cinema. It also delivers a decent underlying message on issues like the legal system, encounters, and the flaws in the education system. Of course, Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans will be highly satisfied, as it’s largely a one-man show with his charismatic presence. Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil deliver strong supporting performances, while Ritika Singh and Manju Warrier make a little impact despite their limited screen time.
