The Paradise
The Paradise is one hell of a patience test disguised as an over-the-top action drama. By the time it ends, you might wonder whether “The Hell” would have been a more appropriate title. When it comes to the story, the film feels like a culmination of several movies — Peddi, Toxic, Baahubali, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, The Crow — and somehow even Avengers: Endgame. Not because every comparison is literal, but because traces of those ideas and staging keep surfacing throughout. Despite having so much packed into it, Srikanth Odela fails to shape any of it into a tight screenplay or translate those ambitions convincingly onto the screen. Apart from maybe two to four shots that briefly grab attention, the experience is exhausting. The internal logic makes things even harder to take seriously.
