Romance dramas often thrive on the promise of fresh emotion, yet The Map That Leads to You walks a path we’ve traveled countless times before. Where the film does succeed, however, is in the effortless chemistry between Madelyn Cline and KJ Apa. Their dynamic gives the story a pulse it otherwise struggles to maintain. That said, this film never truly disappoints. It’s not groundbreaking, but it doesn’t pretend to be.
