Project Hail Mary delivers a visually grand experience that blends humor with occasional emotional depth, though its lengthy runtime is something you definitely feel as the story unfolds. The film shines brightest because of Ryan Gosling, who completely owns the screen with a performance that is both engaging and effortlessly charming. His chemistry with the delightful space companion, Rocky—the friendly alien—adds a unique warmth and personality to the narrative. Watching this at India’s biggest Dolby Cinema elevated the experience, but one aspect stood out to me in a slightly distracting way. The space sequences carry a noticeable grainy texture, while the scenes on Earth appear much cleaner and sharper. Knowing Greig Fraser’s track record, it’s clear this was likely a deliberate stylistic choice during post-production.
