Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the swan song for Ethan Hunt and his IMF team. It was a joy watching Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and the rest of the cast share the screen one last time. While the film aims to go bigger than the previous entries, it doesn’t quite succeed. The narrative holds up well, but the action—especially the extended dive and flying sequences—felt prolonged and underwhelming. Despite the scale, the intensity just wasn’t there. The background score didn’t help either, lacking the punch that typically elevates these moments. This might be one of the weakest action outings in the entire franchise. For longtime fans, there’s satisfaction in how it ties back to where it all began—choices made, callbacks, and the emotional payoff. But for non-franchise followers or casual viewers, this might come off as just okay or even disappointing.
