#Marco is brutal — not in its violence, but is how poorly it’s been made. While the poster & teaser hinted at a promising action packed thriller, this was an unfortunate letdown in every sense. The plot, undeniably the film’s weakest link, lacks substance, leaving action part for engagement. As for the so-called “violent and gore” action film that were hyped as groundbreaking in Indian cinema, they fall flat to me. Over reliance on effects and overly stylized action fails to deliver the authenticity the genre demands. Unni Mukundan shines as Marco, delivering a great performance that showcases his dedication and effort, particularly in the staircase fight scene. It’s evident he gave his all to the role. One can only wish he had a stronger script to shine even brighter. Ravi Basrur’s relentless score leaves a mixed impression. While it elevates certain scenes, it also feels unnecessary at times.
