Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1
Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 is technically brilliant but narratively underwhelming, making it a passable watch. The film opens strong, but as the story progresses, the plot and pacing slowly drift while trying to set the stage for the later half. Most of the second half does manage to hold your attention, despite occasional dips in pace. Full credit to Rishab Shetty and team for their craftsmanship—the film looks astonishing on screen. The striking cinematography and impressive visual effects (barring a few low-key touches) put to shame what many so-called big-budget films deliver today. Performance-wise, Rishab Shetty steals the spotlight once again. Just as he redefined his career with Kantara’s iconic climax, here too he commands the screen with an extended act. While it may briefly feel repetitive, the variations and strong narrative moments keep it engaging. Rukmini Vasanth adds charm and leaves an impression with her presence.
