Joker: Folie à Deux
Joker 2 is a visually stunning, absurd musical court-room drama, yet the lackluster writing overshadows even the performances from Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. Joker 2 follows Arthur Fleck’s trial, where he faces judgment over the crimes committed in the previous film. The story dives into whether he is guilty or misunderstood, blending psychological tension with musical elements that don’t work at all to me and felt totally unnecessary. The climax feels so redundant that it makes you wonder if this movie needed to exist at all. Skipping Joker 2 could have saved the budget for a project but, as usual, it’s just WB being WB with their comic book movies—pouring resources into projects that don’t add much value.
