Good Boy
After a couple of disastrous experiences with Shudder originals in the past, I decided to give #GoodBoy a chance. Despite its short one-hour runtime, the film is extremely slow-paced. Since the narrative is told through the eyes of a dog, many viewers may find it even more difficult to sit through or stay fully engaged. It’s a supernatural horror-drama that turns out to be reasonably decent (not fully though), with a couple of effective jump scares — something I genuinely didn’t expect, given how low my expectations were going in. The film does manage to stage certain situations well, using both darkness and light to build atmosphere. There isn’t much more to say beyond that. If you’re interested, you can give it a try (I watched it at 1.25x speed), but even then, the pacing still feels sluggish. So..🤷🏻♂️
