Fountain of Youth
Despite a star-studded cast and a seasoned filmmaker at the helm, Fountain of Youth is an exhausting watch — a bland and uninspired Indiana Jones imitation, lacking the charm, soul, excitement, or narrative momentum of its obvious influences. I was hoping for a solid adventure binge — it’s been a while since we had one — but this was a slog. I had to take multiple breaks just to stay awake and push through it. The film tries hard to sell its treasure hunt, but it never feels convincing. The background score is a major letdown — bland, poorly chosen, and completely out of sync with the scenes, as if it belongs to a different film altogether. John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, and Eiza González star in what ultimately amounts to a wasted opportunity. Kinda hard to believe this misfire came from Guy Ritchie. His films were atleast decent.
