Biker starring Sharwanand, promoted as India’s first motocross racing drama, had all the ingredients to be a gripping sports-action film. But what we finally get is a film that leans heavily on style, while the substance feels limited. The effort put into the production is clearly visible. The racing portions, in particular, stand out with strong sound design that adds energy and intensity to the scenes. Even though the visual effects look noticeable and slightly artificial in a many of the places, the intent behind them is appreciable. Director Abhilash Reddy seems to have had a solid idea on paper. However, the execution takes a familiar route. The inclusion of a routine father-son emotional track ends up taking more space than it should. Instead of enhancing the story, it overshadows the racing journey, which ideally should have been the core focus. The film misses the depth and progression that a sports drama like this demands.
