R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaik's romantic comedy-drama is just about fine — lifted by sincere performances from the lead pair and a capable supporting cast. The narrative moves at a sluggish pace, and while it attempts a fresh spin on a familiar template, it doesn’t quite land. The music, though not a full-blown musical, frequently interrupts the flow and feels more like a speed breaker than a supporting element. What starts off on a charming and light note gradually slips into a dizzying repetition, losing its grip on both humor and romance. The latter portions, especially pre-climax, come off questionable in terms of the message being conveyed. All in all, it’s an okayish old-school rom-com with notable performances but weighed down by its conventional storytelling and tonal imbalance.
